“It’s easy to feel paralysed by the many challenges we face as a society, especially with regard to how we can effectively help those who are struggling around us.”

This week you’ll notice District’s GUIDE magazine around the city has gone through a temporary change. For one month only, it will be called GiVE. We’re proud to be linking up with our pals in Collective Dublin to help launch their most ambitious exhibition to-date.

From December 13-16 in The Copperhouse Gallery, they’ll bring together 18 uniquely talented artists who have each donated an original piece of work to be auctioned on opening night, as well as a limited edition print to be sold in editions of 50.

Each print is priced at €50 with 100 per cent of the funds being donated to Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH). Their aim is to raise in excess of €55,000.

“It’s easy to feel paralysed by the many challenges we face as a society, especially with regard to how we can effectively help those who are struggling around us. G i V E aims to raise much needed funds to support structural change which will help those living on the streets get back on their feet. Through this exhibition G i V E endeavours to evolve perceptions, spark conversation and ultimately generate more empathy and Love for those in need around us, because ultimately what is really needed is compassion and action.”

Over the four days of art there will be surprise live music performances, live podcast recordings (including Truth Bangers), DJ sets from the likes of Dublin’s DARK TRAX, plus spoken word poetry from one of Ireland’s most famed storytellers.

Artists involved include Domino Whisker, Buse Kanlikilic, Kevin William Flynn, Sinead Bailey Kelly, Mark William Logan, Greg Purcell, George Voronov, Ellius Grace, Fiona Cribben, Sean O Rourke, Joe Caslin, Molly Keane, Sacha Strange, Aches, Cormac Dunne, SUBSET, Decoy and Pauline Dupont.
