This week saw Hans Zimmer announce a European tour with a date in Dublin, the first waves of acts got announced for Other Voices in Dingle and a new levy on single use plastic was announced. Read all about it and more below.

Hans Zimmer announces European tour with a date in Dublin

We started off the week with news of a new tour from the mastermind behind the scores of films such as Interstellar, Dunkirk and The Last Samurai is heading out on tour.

Off the back of a world tour which drew over one million fans to arenas, stadiums and open air sites, Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer returns to 3Arena on 2nd March 2021 with a major new arena tour.

Wigwam to host fundraiser for Aida Camp Youth Center

Friday 15 November sees a string of local DJs band together to raise funds for a youth centre located in Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem.

The fundraiser will feature Marcus Woods [Burner Records], Roo HoneyChild [Club Comfort], Marc McLoughlin [Constellation/Slither] and SoHotSoSpicy [Thrust Collective] in what promises to be a dance inducing extravaganza. Get down and boogie for a good cause.

Hare Squead release new single featuring Jay Prince

Hare Squead returned this week to drop another ear worm single before the year is out.

You may know Hare Squead from their hit single ‘Herside Story‘ that later saw American Grammy nominated artist Goldlink hop  on the remix. However after a quieter 2018 the Irish crooners have took it upon themselves to up the ante in 2019.  Having released the head nodding ‘100 Miles’ in January and following it up with a genuine Summer anthem in ‘Petty’, the Dublin duo have kept their hot streak going with their latest effort ‘Meeting With Myself’.

Noname announces new album dropping 2020


One of Chicago’s finest confirmed the news we all wanted to hear.

Having joined forces with fellow Mid-west natives Smino and Saba to release ‘Häagen Dazs‘ under the new supergroup alias Ghetto Sage just a few weeks ago, Noname has revealed that she will drop an album in the new year.

New levy on disposable cups to be revealed

One of a number of environmentally motivated changes sees a new tax on disposable cups.

In a number of new changes to be undertaken by the government, single use plastic cups will be subject to a new levy in an attempt to reduce waste.

Shookrah are really shaking things up at the moment. Having been named one of the ’50 People to watch in 2018′ by the Irish Times The cork five piece are fulfilling the early potential that was evident from the get-go.  Borrowing elements from neo-soul and adding a healthy dose of funk to everything they do, the group are also influenced by the likes of Thundercat, Hiatus Kaiyote and Solange.

Eric Prydz confirmed for Life Festival 2020

One of the biggest names in electronic music is heading to Ireland for his Life Festival debut.

Having already confirmed Carl Cox for next year’s 15th anniversary edition of Life Festival, there has been another big addition to what is already a stacked line-up.

Sweden’s Eric Prydz will grace the stage of Life Festival in 2020, following the previous announcements of Fisher and Carl Cox.

Dublin’s first 24hr bus route will start next month

Your route home after a night out over Christmas is sorted.

It has been announced that on the first day of December the capital’s very first 24 hour bus service will become operational. The number 41 route that runs between swords and the city centre is the first to be trialed, following the success of a similar initiative in Cork.
