Boiler Room Upfront 086: Banoffee Pies Records
Banoffee Pies are a Bristolian imprint that release “Music with no signature sound.” They’ve been releasing collaborative 12″s since 2014 and last year started branching out to full long players.
This mix for Boiler Room is a jaunty upbeat mix of upbeat dance music from their roster. As their manifesto states, it’s “For the DJ. For the listener. For the heads.”
Slackk – Winter Tape 16
Grime sounds better when it’s cold out. Slackk, aka Paul Lynch flies through over 30 tracks of instrumental grime in just over an hour in his winter tape. Full of icy, stabbing synths and bubbling bass pads from a multitude of underground producers, anyone looking forward to Different Circles’ mix CD coming out tomorrow, this is a good winter warmup.

Dublin’s Repeater crew present three hours of out-there electronic grooves and rhythms. Expect house, techno, soul, easy listening, R&B, hip hop and grime in the first hour alone. Eclectic and electric.

Splitless Artefacts 7 – OOUKFunkyOO
One of the best and most underrated Youtube channels to deliver a torrent of underground electronic music is OOUKFunkyOO. Uploading well over a thousand videos over the past six years has solidified their name as one to trust when it comes to alternative sounds.
This experimental collage of sounds for the fledgling Splitless Artefacts mix series is made up of found sounds, Street Fighter sound effects, track snippets, and ambient background noise. One for the psychonauts out there.
