The festivities in Dingle are underway and there’s plenty to be excited about this weekend. Other Voices has a record of showcasing some of the finest talent from home and abroad in the small fishing town and this year is no different.
Fehdah – Nelliefred’s 23.30
Borrowing elements from afro-futurism, R&B and electronic music, it’s hard to box Fehdah into any one lane, musically speaking. Her infectious melodies, ear for musicality and love of Wassoulou music ensures she is one of the most exciting prospects on the trail this year.
Tonight she is part of the 2FM Rising showcase alongside garage rock outfit Vulpynes and Dublin’s Somebodys Child.
Natalya O’Flaherty – John Benny’s Pub 23.30
One of Ireland’s outstanding spoken word talents Natalya O’Flaherty is bringing her emotive poems to John Benny’s Pub.
She recently provided sharp narrations on Tebi Rex’s debut album ‘The Young Will Eat The Old’, and she has the chance to demonstrate her lucid wordplay in an intimate setting in the South West.
New Pagans – The Marina Inn 23.30
Hailing from the North of Ireland, New Pagans are delivering grungy records to the tiny confines of The Marina Inn.
Hot off the back of an NI Music Prize award nomination for Best Live Act, it’ll be a real treat to see them perform in Dingle.
Sim Simma Soundsystem – Paul Geaney’s Yard 01.30
Sim Simma Soundsystem always bring a healthy dose of party anthems to whatever they do. If you needed any encouragement to stay out late then one of Ireland’s greatest party throwers will be on hand tonight to provide the vibes.
Denise Chaila and God Knows will be performing alongside the rest of the crew in what promises to be a riot.
