Banter and Eventbrite’s ‘Event Talks’ series are coming together for a free event to discuss the idea of a night mayor in the capital city.

According to host Jim Carroll the panel will be, “examining if Dublin needs a rep at city council level to represent night-time activity, how a night mayor might work, what it might mean for events organisers, the popularity of the concept amongst local policy makers and how it could be made happen.”

Other cities like Melbourne and Amsterdam have already appointed a night mayor and this panel will see if Dublin should follow suit.

The panel for the event will include Richard Guiney, CEO DublinTown, Dublin City’s Business Improvement District, Niall Byrne aka Nialler9, and Roisin McVeigh from Cheap Trick, Frock Advisor and Totally Dublin.

Event Talks kicks off on Tuesday July 12 from 6pm until 8pm on Wood Quay, Fishamble Street in Dublin. Click here to apply for free tickets.
