“Proper ignorant bangers with that dark flavour of the southern USA – but with that distinctive Dublin twang.”

After supporting Why-Axis at his sold-out show in The Sound House and the release of ‘ICY PLAIN PT. 1′ EP Invader Slim, aka Yung Marty Whelan, is back again with ‘Mothership’ and he’s recruited another Irish talent on the beat.

While Slim has been creeping into the consciousness of hip hop fans on this island over the past 12 months or so, Tristan Da Cunha has also been making his mark releasing one of our favourite tracks of 2018. This time he’s flexing his production muscles though, creating a beat far more sinister than his usual output.

Premiered on Sesh FM, here’s what they had to say about the track.

“Dark trap music has taken over the airwaves in the last year or two, $uicideboy$ have sold out two consecutive years in Ireland but we haven’t really heard Irish hip-hop give that kind of thing a go yet.
Enter Invader Slim. Proper ignorant bangers with that dark flavour of the southern USA – but with that distinctive Dublin twang. We’re proud to present what we reckon is his best tune yet – ‘Mothership’.”
