Homebeat Presents is the newest effort from independent Irish promoter Homebeat, and they’re off to a strong start.

Making their mark on the Irish music scene since 2011, Homebeat is known for their work with festivals – they are the force behind the alluring Another Love Story. They also collaborate with some of the bigger names, like Electric Picnic, Castlepalooza and Body & Soul, among others.

Their focus is on giving a platform to Irish acts, as well as bringing international artists to mix in the Irish scene. Straying from festivals but continuing with that aim, they’ve launched their own record label, by the name of Homebeat Presents.

First up on the label will be Carriages, a Dublin based group with an experimental folk sound, built on concepts of movement and travel. They will be releasing their Movement EP on September 30. Listen to

Let’s Set Sail, the Dublin four-piece, will be following them as they release their new EP in November.

According to an interview on Nialler9, this is what label boss Emmet Condon had to say:

“I would love to say there is a very thought out plan for all of this, but in truth the drive behind the idea has very much emerged through a few hazy late night conversations with some acts and artists who have become close friends though our musical adventures together.

It seems to me that so many amazing Irish artists pour their hearts and souls into creating singular pieces of musical work, only for it to dissolve into the air with a single click or the odd download, so it’s my hope that Homebeat Presents… will add a little extra colour to the story of their creation, and in reaching some of the many people we have had through our various doors in our 6 years of doing this, that we might just spread the gospel of their music a little further.”

Meanwhile, Homebeat’s Another Love Story festival celebrating music, art and food will be kicking off on August 18, in Killyon Manor, Meath. Last minute tickets can still be grabbed on their website.
