“Avril, if you’re reading this let’s link and build.”

Dublin producer and vocalist Jake Hurley has released a new track, a follow up to his ‘Cartooniverse‘ mixtape which was released on District Recordings.

“It’s an ode to the TV and how comforting it can be. In keeping with that I wanted to use some references to things that shaped our generation for better or for worse, so I had to shout out the GOATs, Avril Lavigne and Smash Mouth!”

In an interview on the release of ‘Cartooniverse’ Jake discussed how important an influence of TV and pop-culture is on his music.

It’s his passion for hip hop melded with his love for watching cartoons that also led him to creating this new project.

“I’m a big Bob’s Burgers fan so I thought the samples were a nice way to merge two things I love, but I hope I won’t be facing my G Tommy Pickles in court for them. I saw you perform in the Point in ’99 Tommy, don’t snake me on this!”
