All pubs across the Republic are due to reopen on September 21.

It was announced today that live music performances and sessions will be allowed when wet pubs reopen.

Though live gigs have been back for a few weeks, it was unclear whether pub sessions were prohibited or not due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Wet pubs are due to open on Monday September 21.

Speaking on RTÉ’s Today With Claire Byrne, Catherine Martin, Minister for Media, Arts and Culture said “I want our musicians to play, to sing again, to earn a living.”

Pubs will have to adhere to strict social distancing and Covid-19 guidelines.
