One of the most beloved journalists in the world will return to the small screen for a trilogy of documentary films.

Louis Theroux and the BBC are back in business as three new projects have been confirmed. According to the Independent, ‘Murder in Milwaukee’, ‘Sex Trafficking Houston’, which isn’t the final title, and Opiate City will be screened on BBC 2 this year.

No set date has been confirmed, but the three films will look at “uniquely devastating challenges currently facing America, including murder, sex trafficking, and opiate dependency”.

Also in the exclusive Independent article Louis says, “They combine hard-hitting actuality with intimate interviews.

“I have been granted access to the police in several states; I’ve got to know the people affected by crime; and I’ve also spent time with the perpetrators of crime, with the idea of understanding the causes of it, both on a systemic level and also in a very personal way.”

The last documentary projects Louis worked on were My Scientology Movie, Drinking to Oblivion, A Different Brain, and Saville, so you know the next three are going to be just as weird and fascinating in equal measure.
