“In 2017, we will pay homage to the club that put us on the international map by doing a series of concerts, afterparties, VIP Packages, films and singles”

It’ll have been 25 years since their last studio album, but Chic will be releasing new material in 2017.

There are several reasons ‘It’s About Time’ didn’t come out sooner, with Rodgers saying he couldn’t share the music with the deaths of so many artists this year.

“When Prince suddenly died, it was like I’d been struck by lighting twice,” he said in a statement.

2017 also marks the the 40th anniversary of Chic’s formation and the opening of the influential club Studio 54.

“In 2017, we will pay homage to the club that put us on the international map by doing a series of concerts, afterparties, VIP Packages, films and singles.

“Then drop the full album along with a BIG SURPRISE!”
