Gumshoe have been teasing tracks from this EP for a while, and now ‘Sun Kisses The Moon’ is available in full.

In March we caught up with Gumshoe and visual artist Andrew Hopkins to discuss how Wicklow’s landscape imprints on their sound, and their forthcoming EP.

Now the duo have released the new project, and the seven-track release is a collaboration with Hopkins.

“The intention was to translate the vast landscapes we see in our surroundings every day into one piece to relay it to the listener. We worked closely together to combine the paintings, photography and the tracks into a channel in which the listener can step into the imaginary world in their own mind.”

Split in two sides ‘Aphelion/ Side A’ and ‘Perihelion/ Side B’, both with juxtaposing dark and lighter vibes. The EP ends with ‘forgotten weapons’, which has an accompanying video that was released by the duo in March.

There’s a limited run of ‘Sun Kisses The Moon’ cassettes, which includes stickers, a fold out booklet with artwork and photography.

“The physical release was created to mirror an art gallery with the paintings and photography sitting on a white background and are intended to be viewed as the EP is listened to.”
