The last Taproot art auction took place a couple of months ago with the aim to raise money for help inner city homelessness and mental health charities, while also showcasing Irish and international artists.

They’re back with another fundraiser, this time setting their sights on the campaign to repeal the 8th Amendment.

‘Artonomy’ will feature a huge array of artists, music from Eve and Frank Sweeney alongside a “solid crew of bodily autonomy advocates”. 50 per cent of the proceeds raised will go towards the Together for Yes campaign.

The exhibition launches with an opening reception and auction on Thursday April 5 at 6pm in MART, Rathmines, and runs until Friday April 13.

Here’s what  Co-Director of MART Matthew Nevin had to say.

“I believe we need to trust women, remove the 8th and continue to allow Ireland as it moves toward a more open society, where religious beliefs are not indoctrinated but a choice and removed from influencing government and constitutional law, and all aspects of our society.”
