An alternative voice from America’s south comes to Ireland.

Cities Aviv is ranked among the best when it comes to pushing the envelope in hip hop. Like other alternative rap artists like Ho99o9 and Antwon, Cities began his musical life in the realm of punk.

Since releasing his debut mixtape back in 2011, he’s gone on to release two studio albums and a selection of stand-alone releases.

The Memphis born artist has never performed in Ireland before, so we’re delighted to be teaming up with our mates Venture Presents to bring him to our shores.

He plays The DBD Venue aka The Mezz in Temple Bar on Friday November 17. The first 20 people to pick up a ticket get a complimentary copy of District Magazine Issue 002 (RRP €12). Click here for more.

Support comes from Creative Crime who will perform on the back of their contributions to the recent film ‘Cardboard Gangsters’. Also on the bill is one of our favourite Dublin rappers, Mythill Grim.

First release tickets are on sale now for €8. Click here to grab yours.
