The Shaw must go on.

Just a few weeks ago it was revealed that The Bernard Shaw would be closing its doors. Subsequently promoters revealed the venue would be relocating to the northside of the city and it was widely believed this new spot would be called Racket, signalling  a new direction from Bodytonic.

However, we got sneak peak of the new spot in Phibsborough and can exclusively confirm the venue will retain the name of the current space.

Despite the fact the new Bernard Shaw is, for the moment, untouched by the new owners, it’s easy to see the potential.

Following the huge public out pour after the announcement of The Shaw’s imminent closure, Bodytonic have responded and will ensure the core elements of the beloved spot live on.

We can confirm Bodytonic’s new bar on Dublin’s northside will go through renovations in order to construct a space likely to breed an atmosphere similar to that which made the Richmond Street pub a Dublin institution for well over a decade.

Although not everything will be the same, these images of the interior shows a venue that has huge potential to replicate some of the former’s sensibilities.

The new venue will open its doors on Friday 15 November .

In the meantime promoters have announced the final Bernard Shaw party. You can find details here.
