With their long-awaited album ‘Casual Work’ on the way and a Choice Music Prize single of the year nomination under their belt, Mango X MathMan returned in mid-February with their first single of 2019, ‘No Surrender F.M.’.

“As our club scene and nightlife takes a hammering from archaic licensing laws and a new wave of capitalism – ‘No Surrender F.M.’ is our homage to pirate radio and the times we grew up in the underground club scene in Ireland.

“A mix between 2 step, garage and grime. A journey shared by so many people who have lived their lives through clubs, club music and illegal pirate radio stations in Dublin, Ireland and across the world. It’s energetic, bass heavy and equally genuine as it is tongue in cheek. This is authentically the sound of our city, our raves, our after parties and our people.”

Now they’ve recruited one of Dublin’s most interesting visual artists to direct a video for the track. Check it out below.

We caught up with the elusive mind behind Kurb Junki back in 2017 to discuss skating’s place in popular culture and art’s intrinsic link with the board.
