Radio show The Co-Present on Dublin Digital Radio have compiled a 15-track album of Christmas songs covered by various Irish artists and it’s all in aid of suicide and self-harm prevention charity Pieta House.

“Christmas is a time of year when friends and family come together and enjoy each others company. Unfortunately, for some, it is a time of remembrance for those we have lost and for others a time of loneliness and sadness. We at Pieta House are trying every day to break the cycle of suicide and self-harm and to comfort those who have lost a loved one.

“This album, from the first note to the last chorus, signifies a great hope. Pieta House strives for an Ireland where suicide, self-harm and stigma have been replaced by hope, self-care and acceptance.”

Villagers, Ailbhe Reddy, Jack O’Rourke, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Columbia Mills, Session Motts and many more take on classic Christmas tracks (and some originals) all in aid of the charity.

Listen and purchase for just a tenner below.

All proceeds from the album and live events will be donated to Pieta House Suicide and Self Harm Crisis Centre. Freephone – 1800 247 247.

They’re having a live launch this Saturday, December 9 at Drop Dead Twice, Francis Street with physical copies of the album and performances from contributing artists, Session Motts, Junior Brother, Columbia Mills, I Have A Tribe, Tanjier and more. Click here for more.
