‘Move The Needle’, produced by Smirnoff and This Greedy Pig features ELLLL, Sally Cinnamon, Cailín and more.

The nine-minute short film features DJs, event organisers, and producers offering up stories of how they started in the Irish dance scene, and offering advice to aspiring female musicians.

The film was made in conjunction with a series of workshops taking place across the country over the summer, aiming to promote women, transgender, and non-binary people getting involved in the Irish dance scene. A survey of festival headliners at electronic music festivals around the world found that only 17 per cent were made up of females, transgender and non-binary people. These workshops are part of a goal to double that statistic by 2020.

You can sign up for these free workshops, taking place in Galway, Cork, Belfast and Dublin across the summer at this link.
