One minute ‘Dublin Oldschool’ makes you never want to go on a session again, the next you want to down tools and live hedonistically for the remainder of your days.
Directed and co-written by Dave Tynan (‘Heartbreak‘) and starring fellow co-writer Emmet Kirwan, the film is a screen adaption of the critically-acclaimed play of the same name and will be in cinemas in Ireland on June 29.
The film tells the tale of the lead character Jason’s Bank Holiday weekend antics in Dublin city, while somewhere along the way he bumps into his estranged brother Daniel who suffers from heroin addiction.
Emmet Kirwan has gone from one of Ireland’s most authentic spoken word artists and stage actors, to an onscreen star Dubliners should be proud to call their own.
