Art. Music. Culture.

One of the Sad Boys crew is to be honoured in Dublin on Wednesday for his contribution to culture.

For many Yung Lean is a cultural icon. His music and style predated much of the current musical content that currently saturates the internet. Having uploaded videos on youtube back when he was a young teen, he managed to take himself from underground success to unprecedented heights. Working with Frank Ocean on Blonde and other heavy hitters such as Florida’s Denzel Curry.

The Bram Stoker Medal of Cultural Achievement will be awarded to Sweden’s Yung Lean on Wednesday 13 November. The University Philosophical Society will host a ceremony in the GMB Debating Chamber at 5.30pm and the innovative artist will also address the audience.

Previous speakers to the society include The Pixies and Sadiq Khan, Kojaque and in the coming months the likes of bedroom pop star Clairo will address the society.

The events are free and open to our members only. If you are not currently a member, they will be taking sign-ups at the door of this event.
