10 new releases you need to bump this week 31/7/20

New music from two of PX Music’s finest, an experimental electronic album and loads more.

There’s so much music dropping every week and so much fanfare around releases that it’s becoming increasingly harder to cut through the noise.

With that in mind, we’ve made your life that little bit easier by curating the best releases of the week so far.

We’ve Action Bronson’s highly anticipated return, a new video from God Knows and Brandy’s first album in eight years.

Moon Paw Print – Dreams of ü

Northern Irish producer Moon Paw Print has released his stunning new debut album ‘Dreams of Ü’. Having worked extensively with Slan Collective over the past year, he’s consistently developed emotive and immersive soundscapes that build textured layers.

Inspired by the intensely vivid dreams many reported during lockdown ‘Dreams of Ü’ use astral synths and glitchy sonics to explore the nature of dreams and seeks to find the extraordinary in the everyday.

Sea High – The Lockdown Project

Crafted entirely during lockdown, Louth spitter Sea High brings a poetic approach to ‘The Lockdown Project’.

Highlighting the difficulties caused by isolation during the pandemic he enlisted a number of other Off-Key Collective members for a thoroughly collaborative effort.

Jorja Smith – By Any Means

London’s rising star Jorja Smith released ‘By Any Means’, the first single from an upcoming Roc Nation compilation album ‘Reprise’.

Inspired directly by the BLM movement Jorja said the project “aims to bring awareness to social justice issues through musical protest.”

God Knows – We Move The Needle Feat. BONY & MuRli

The Rusangano spitter enlists band mate MuRli and rapper BONY for the new video that asks us to have uncomfortable conversations.

Hazey Haze x 40Hurtz – Pignorant

New collaborative project from two of PX Music’s finest.

Visceral bars, thumping instrumentals and the kind of rage-inducing energy we’ve become accustomed to.

Danny G & The Major 7ths – D.A.R.L.I.N.G. Deat. Tolü Makay & Jamel Franklin

Another remotely executed collaborative effort.

Brimming with infectious, jazzy energy the video for ‘D.A.R.L.I.N.G’ features 50 different people.

Uly – if you were a day you’d be a sunday (songs to go walking to)

Uly has taken his time in releasing a larger body of work, but it’s been worth it.

‘if you were a day you’d be a sunday (songs to go walking to)’ features the unmistakeable falseto of the astrophysics graduate and the trademark leisurely, dusty instrumentation that’s come to soundtrack our morning coffees.

Action Bronson – Latin Grammys

In his first release since 2019’s ‘Lambs Over Rice’, Bronsiliño has paid homage to the 1995 world’s strongest man competition.

Brandy – B7

Seventh studio album and first in eight years from RnB star. Features include Daniel Ceaser and Chance The Rapper.

Monjola – Know You

The debut single from Monjola seeks deep connection beyond DMs and one night stands.
