Finally, some optimism! Things are looking up and it’s payday so what better time to give yourself something to look forward to and support Irish artists in the process.

It felt as though lockdown was genuinely going to go on forever. Though imperfect, the announcements from the government yesterday provided some sort of hope that we are finally on our way to some sort of normality again. Just say those three words Micheál, go on, you know you want to. Just say them: “Gigs are back”.

Spirits are the highest they’ve been in a while and once we rid ourselves of the lockdown bowl cuts and can head to the beach we’ll feel brand new. While there was no roadmap laid out for the live entertainment industry, it doesn’t mean we can’t have nice experiences to look forward to. Things can change very quickly and with the vaccination rollout speeding up, live music could be back sooner than you think.

We’ll likely not have anything this summer, but we’ve mapped out the gigs from Irish artists between September and this side of Christmas that you can buy tickets to.

CMAT

The country-pop star we deserve has her own headline show in Whelan’s and is hitting the road with Declan Mckenna in November this year. Having produced some of the best music videos in the country during the pandemic, we can’t wait to see what she has prepared for the live arena. The Dublin date of Declan’s tour has been postponed and is yet to be rescheduled, but it’ll no doubt be announced shortly.

Kojaque

Soft Boy Records co-founder Kojaque is dropping his debut album Town’s Dead and to celebrate he’s breezing through Europe for his own headline tour.

I don’t think we can take these shows being postponed anymore, hopefully, the new dates for Nealo in the Workman’s are final, we need to hear that Choice Prize-nominated record in the flesh.
