5 new releases you need to listen to today

Including Kali Uchis’ first body of work in two years, a new James Blake single and fresh Earl Sweatshirt.

It feels as though the music industry has perfected their quarantine roll outs this week, with a mountain of new music hitting streaming services today.

We’ve got tracks from Octavian, NiNE8’s newest member and quintessential Earl Sweatshirt.

NAYANA IZ – WALKING / FINAL HOUR

One of the UK’s most explosive new talents has shared a fresh Double A side release.  ‘Walking’ and ‘Final Hour’ are out today on Different Recordings and serve as an introduction to her ahead of her debut  EP ‘Smoke & Fly’, which drops June 16.

At only 19 years of age NAYANA IZ introduced herself at the tail end of last year with the fierce ‘how we do’, which was produced by Karma Kid. Now part of the NiNE8 crew, it’s a strong showing ahead of her new project.

Earl Sweatshirt – WHOLE WORLD Feat. Maxo

Earl has shared his first single since his ‘FEET OF CLAY’ EP. In a markedly less experimental cut, he teams up with la artist Maxo and veteran producer The Alchemist.

James Blake – You’re Too Precious

‘You’re Too Precious’ marks James Blake first new single since his stunning 2019 album ‘Assume Form’.

A more personal evolution, it comes off the back of his hugely popular instagram live streams that have encapsulated his audience.

Kali Uchis – To Feel Alive

Keeping relatively quiet since her 2018 album ‘Isolation’, Kali Uchis has provided fans with a selection of demo recordings created in her bedroom ahead of a longer release.

Octavian – Poison Feat. Take A Daytrip, Obongjayar, Santi

UK star and winner of BBC’s Sound of 2019 Octavian has shared the video for his new song ‘Poison’ produced by the mastermind behind ‘Mo Bamba’ and Lil Nas X’s ‘Panini’ Take A Daytrip. It features Obongjayar and Nigerian rapper-singer Santi.
