A pod-living company in Dublin is renting out pods in a shared bedroom for €130 a week.

Hotels, sheds, waterslides no one wants and now… living pods?

In another strange, dystopian twist an advertisement on Gumtree has appeared showing “pod-living”.

Without giving away the exact location of the pods the advertisement states it’s ideal for “medium term stays” and is a 12 minute walk from the spire.

Each room in the three-bedroom house has up to four pod beds with a shared bathroom.

The Pods are “self-containing” with air vents and a small safe. There is a kitchen and”chill-out” area but a strict 9pm curfew.

This is yet another indictment of the housing situation in the capital. With news of a white water rafting facility, the erection of numerous hotels and the lack of affordable housing, the future is looking bleak.
