ABBA are reuniting and releasing 5 new songs

Mama Mia!

ABBA are releasing five new songs in 2021 and will be reuniting to perform music again.

That’s according to band member Björn Ulvaeus who confirmed that they were due to reunite this year and release songs before COVID-19 got in the way. Now, they’ve revealed they’ll take the stage again next year.

The last studio album from the nordic group came back in 1982, they did, however, release some tracks in 1993 and 1994.

The group revealed that they had two new tracks already recorded back in 2018 and they were due to coincide with a hologram tour.

Having had the extra time to produce and record music Björn confirmed to co-host of the Reasons To Be Cheerful podcast Geoff Lloyd that there may more songs than originally planned on the way.

“I got to spend an hour with Björn Ulvaeus from ABBA via Zoom. He’s quarantining – he’s got an island in the Stockholm archipelago.”

“They’ve recorded five new songs. They should have been out at the end of last year… Because of technical difficulties and the pandemic, it’s delayed things.”

“But he promised me that the new ABBA music will be out in 2021.”
