Aches x BiPolarBear rerelease their Darkness into Light charity t-shirt

By Emily Mullen

Aches and BiPolarBear have once more combined creative forces to raise much-needed funds for Pieta House.

With fundraising events cancelled left, right and centre over the last year, funding has been drastically reduced for many of the country’s key charities. Last year when Pieta House’s Darkness into Light event was cancelled, Irish clothing brand BiPolarBear and Dublin muralist and graffiti writer Aches pooled their talents and created something that would drum up some much-needed funds for the mental health charity.

The t-shirt bore Aches iconic “Darkness into Light” design and was produced by BiPolarBear, the tee not only drew exposure for Pieta House, each one sold raised much needed money for the charity.

The t-shirt was a massive success, with a quick turn around time and limited press the guys raised over €10,000 and shifted nearly 500 units.

The t-shirt was “not only a reaction to not being able to walk with others on Darkness into Light (due to the pandemic) but also cognisant Peita would be without a lot of their invaluable income,” Conso from BiPolarBear told us.

Marking the approach of 2021’s Darkness Into Light which takes place on May 8th, BiPolarBear are rereleasing Aches’s t-shirt, and once more giving all profits to Pieta House.

The design is now being printed on a black t-shirt which Conso says gives a “unique take on such an iconic piece of clothing/symbol of hope and unity”.

“This funding goes towards helping thousands upon thousands of people go through their doors annually, receiving help that they simply cannot receive from elsewhere, and without any knowledge of the impact the fear, isolation and anxiety COVID has caused, more people will need the help of Pieta more than ever,” Conso added.

The T-shirt will be available for €30, with all profit going to Pieta House, grab your tee from the BiPolarBear website.
