Brooklyn-based Irish designer takes inspiration from Shelbourne FC in new video

“My collection seeks to offer an alternative perspective on this community and culture, celebrating the collective identity of the working class in Dublin.”

Zoe Redmond, or simply ZOË, is an Irish fashion designer now based in Brooklyn, NY. Her latest collection was inspired by League of Ireland side Shelbourne. It features Irish electronica duo, and avid Shels/Bohs fans, White Collar Boy.

“The club epitomises working class Dublin through a strong sense of community. The energy, passion and commitment from everyone who attends the matches every week, blew me away and influenced the whole idea,” explains ZOË. “My work tends to be very personal, shaped by my own experiences, being born and raised in the suburb of North Dublin, Coolock. My collection seeks to offer an alternative perspective on this community and culture, celebrating the collective identity of the working class in Dublin.”

She continues: “The broad spectrum of colour that floods the stadium of Tolka park produced my colour story throughout the collection and leads the story in the video. Each outfit is a different colour but all share the same ethos, creating group identity through a shared style.”
