District Mixtape Series: Jake Hurley – ‘Cartooniverse’

Welcome to the ‘Cartooniverse’.

Next up in our mixtape series we’re proud to present producer Jake Hurley. Jake’s new tape ‘Cartooniverse’ is 13 tracks of beats, plus vocals from Jafaris, Damola and more.

“I’ve always played music but I fell off with it a little bit in my teens years. But in 2016 I really started to focus and my passion for production really grew so this tape is the result of that! I also delved more into the scene in Dublin and saw so much dope shit was going on from Damola and Jafaris, who feature on the tape, to other great MCs like Mango, Rebel P and Kojaque!

It’s his passion for hip hop melded with his love for watching cartoons that also led him to creating this new project.

“I’m a big Bob’s Burgers fan so I thought the samples were a nice way to merge two things I love, but I hope I won’t be facing my G Tommy Pickles in court for them. I saw you perform in the Point in ’99 Tommy, don’t snake me on this!”
