Dublin City Council begins proceedings to remove ‘Horseboy’ & David Attenborough murals
The council have taken steps to have the iconic murals removed.
As of this week Dublin City Council have started their legal bid to remove popular murals in Dublin depicting David Attenborough and ‘Horseboy’.
The murals were created by art collective Subset and were allegedly permitted to exist by nearby residents.
However, because they were not granted permission from Dublin city’s planning department before painting the murals they were issued warnings to have them removed.
The mural depicting beloved wildlife expert David Attenborough was revealed on the film maker’s 93rd birthday last year on a property in Portobello.
The “unauthorised” mural was ordered by the council to be removed and they used the same reasoning for the ‘horseboy’ mural.
In just under two days a petition demanding the murals stay has garnered over 2,500 votes.
