Dublin’s essential events this weekend 11//12//13

slowthai’s official afterparty, a live rendition of a classic video game’s soundtrack and plenty of banging club nights.

Every Thursday at District we’ll be curating a selection of unmissable events in Dublin ahead of the coming weekend. Whether you have an appetite for thumping techno or are craving some hip hop classics we have you covered.

This week there’s a number of banging partys in Wigwam, an unofficial slowthai afterparty and  an all-night vinyl set to keep you moving over the weekend.

Friday 11 October

Nothing Great About Workman’s – A Soft Boy & District Party – The Workman’s Club – 23.00 – 03.00

Nothing Great About Workman’s? Of course that’s not true… But District are having a little shindig to celebrate a certain Northampton rapper arriving in Dublin.

District Magazine and Soft Boy Records are teaming up for an unofficial afterparty for slowthai‘s gig in The Academy. We’ve got some extra special guests lined up to join us on the night, keep yours on this wonderful prize!

Grand Theft Audio – Sounds of Vice City – Tramline – 19.30 – 22.15

The soundtrack from Grand Theft Auto is bring performed live by a professional 9 piece band in Tramline this Friday. With songs from many of the popular radio stations such as FLASH, V ROCK, EMOTION, FEVER and more, Indulge in a night of nostalgia that also features projections of memorable scenes of Tommy Vercetti’s epic journey through Vice City.

Homebeats selects has recruited some of the island’s brightest young talents for a night of select tunes in The Bernard Shaw. Hot off the back of their appearance at Irish Music Week, electronic pop duo Kyoto Love Hotel will be landing to provide musical goodness. Before and after Kyoto Love Hotel the Homebeat DJs will curate a mean selection of tunes to see the night through. It’s free in and starts at 20.00.

Mama Snake is heading to Wigwam for her Dublin debut. Having gained plaudits for her hard hitting and energetic sets, the Danish DJ is shelling the Wigwam basement this Friday in celebration of Mutate’s 6th birthday and Utopia Collective’s 2nd birthday.

Jaja studios is being taken over for the launch of Pink Clouds, a new collective of filmmakers, artists and musicians based in Dublin. It’s BYOB and features live sets from Nollie, Armed Response Unit (Papa Razzi, Will Boyle) and Rory. Visual art will also be on show from a number of artists and art and merch will be available on the night too.
