Dublin’s essential events this weekend 25//26//27

Bank holiday Sunday parties, an all-day party at The Shaw & more.

It comes as no surprise that there is plenty on this bank holiday Sunday. However for those that can’t make it out then, don’t fret as we’ve listed a host of other events to keep you going over the weekend.

There’s a hip hop brunch, some banging techno and even a night dedicated to the Beastie Boys.

Hammer Hits : Hammer & Holly Lester – Wigwam – 23.00 – 03.00

Having played at the Panorama Bar and Sub Club to just name a few Hammer brings his Hammer Hits tour to the intimate confines of Wigwam this Friday.

Accompanied by one of the fastest rising talents in Ireland, Holly Lester.

Beastie Boys Appreciation Night – LoSt LaNe – 23.00 – 3.30

Following the success of the Beastie Boys hour at Lumo’s All Together Now set and the 2017 Beastie Boys appreciation night Nialler9 and friends will be dedicating an entire night to MCA, Adrock and Mike D. with DJs Nialler9 and friends.

Proceeds from the night will go towards the Irish Cancer Society

Saturday 26 October

The Bern(ghain) Shaw Marathon – The Bernard Shaw – 11.00 – 01.30

The Berndard Shaw is hosting an all day extravaganza featuring some of their favourite regulars. Featuring the likes of Bill Mango, Bobofunk, Pear, Long Island Sound and more it promises to be a proper party.

Hip Hop Meets Brunch – Halloween Party – Opium – 12.00 -22.00

Opium will host a hip hop brunch playing hip hop, grime and afrobeats all afternoon. There will be food and 1 hour of bottomless Mimosas (served 12-1.30pm for first sitting and 2.30 – 3.30pm for second sitting) but this time the party will continue until 22.00.Ticket includes entry to venue, a brunch dish, an hour of unlimited Mimosas and entry to the after party.Note: If you would like to be seated in a group, please e-mail bookings@opium.ie to book your table otherwise there is no guarantee that you will be seated together.

Galcher Lustwerk & DJ Deece – Wigwam – 23.00 – 03.00

Hidden Agenda presents a night featuring one of dance music’s most enigmatic figures. Galcher Lustwerk has accrued a cult following over the years and will be joined by an Irish household name in DJ Deece. Cutting his teeth with a weekly residency at The Workman’s Club, Deece has been a champion of Irish dance music with regular sell out shows up and down the country and a Boiler Room last year.

Lumo Club’s 4th Birthday – Yamamori Tengu – 22.30 – 03.00

Celebrating 4 years of a night that started upstairs in Tengu, this Saturday sees a birthday celebration of the night. Featuring resident DJs Nialler9 , Gavin Elsted and Simon Roche, expect a wide range of music and a few curve balls.

Day Of The Dead Afterparty w/ Special Request – 39/40 Dublin – 23.00 – 03.00

39/40, Constellation & BD Festival present – Day of the Dead afterparty.

Paul Woolford aka Special Request  will be present this bank holiday Sunday for an afterparty alongside Bobofunk and Colm Collie Mckenna who are on support duties for the night. Having released two albums and featured on Boiler Room this year, Special Request will be shelling it in 39/40 alongside two of Ireland’s most technically skilled DJs.

Sim Simma will be featuring at The Bernard Shaw for the first time this bank holiday Sunday. Having hosted events all over the city it’s only right that people get to experience one of their party in the iconic venue.  DJs on the night will be Ben Bix, Gully Docktah Irie, Johnny Carroll, Puffin, Queen Beatz and Semi-D.

Ahead of the annual month-long fundraiser for Movember The Sugar Club will host a bank holiday party to raise awareness and vital funds for men’s health issues.

The charity will combine live music and club culture and host a number of talented Irish artists including Dublin’s singer-songwriter Erica Cody and Clonsilla rapper Nealo. The Sugar Club will become a spot for punters to gather and experience a specially curated line-up by DJ and producer Arveene.
