Dublin’s essential events this weekend 28//29//1

Plenty of gigs, showcases and banging clubs nights this weekend.

Every Thursday at District we’ll be curating a selection of unmissable events in Dublin ahead of the coming weekend. Whether you have an appetite for thumping techno or are craving some hip hop classics we have you covered.

This weekend sees a number of world class DJs and artists descend on Dublin’s shores. Whether you want to see underground hip hop or some weirder sounds coming straight from BRAINFEEDER we’ve got you covered.

Felix Clary Weatherall has been on quite the journey since his debut live show in Dublin in 2017. Having released his debut album on FLying Lotus’ label BRAINFEEDER he’s since went from strength to strength. This Friday he is heading to 39/40 for a DJ set.

Techno & Cans welcome three debutants to Wigwam. Unbelievable as it DSNT’s NEZ will be bringing his crunchy brand of techno to Techno & Cans for the first time in Dublin this Saturday. He’ll be joined by one of the countries consistently outstanding artists in Maedbh O’Connor. RTÉ Pulse and Cuttin’ Heads Collective resident Shiv also joins the all-Irish line-up for what promises to be a massive night.

Nightcap pres. HAAi – Yamamori Tengu – 22:30-03:00

nightcapHAAi is certainly one to watch. She’s been busy in the past few years having hosted Coconut Beats parties in Dalston which led to shows on Rinse FM and Worldwide FM, and eventually to a prestigious residency at the London club Phonox where Throssell played Saturday nights for two years.

As her residency came to end, BBC Radio 1 broadcast her Essential Mix which went on to win the accolade of the Essential Mix of the Year, alumni of which include Helena Hauff, Caribou, Nicolas Jaar, Flying Lotus and Ben Klock. HAAi was then granted a monthly Radio 1 slot, which continues into 2020.

She’ll be shelling Yamamori Tengu this Saturday with E M A on support.
