The new three-phased visual and audio experience, BLACKBOYSBLUSH*, is raising money for the Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland.

E the Artist has announced a new three-phased three part visual, performance & sound project. BLACKBOYSBLUSH* aims to document and explore the current state of the Biracial & BIPOC experiences in Ireland’s modern cultural scene and social landscape.

The project is set to launch on Culture Night, September 23. E the Artist, also known as Daranijoh Sanni, has announced that the project is in aid of the Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland (MASI).

The first phrase of the project will see the launch of a compilation album by Sanni. This album will launch midnight and feature artists of colour such Asian-American Digital Hardcore artist Julia Louise Knifefist and Sierra Leonean-Irish Hip Hop Artist Ahmed, With Love.

The second phase of BLACKBOYSBLUSH* is the launch of Sanni’s visual book at the Douglas Hyde Gallery. The book is comprised of work and interviews from BIPOC fine artists, animators, filmmakers and photographers. All profits from the book will go towards MASI.

BLACKBOYSBLUSH* will then finish off with a stunning performance, also in the Douglas Hyde Gallery. Sanni will team up with DJ Lychee to blend sounds from African and Asian dance scenes to exhibit the common ground & differences they share. Nigerian-Irish RnB Artist SEMI, along with Knifefist and Ahmed, will also perform at the event.

E the Artist is collaborating with Alice Rekab on this project. Rekab’s own multinational project Family Lines, is also currently on display in the Douglas Hyde Gallery.
