Emmet Kirwan performs in a moving new video by Dave Tynan

“I am not defined because I am some man’s daughter, sister, cousin, mother. I am a woman and I have agency because I’m breathing air mother fucker!”

Performed maybe isn’t the right word, because it doesn’t feel like Emmet Kirwan is acting in this video. His impassioned spoken word piece in this new video is moving, to the point of drawing tears and filling you with anger.

‘Heartbreak’ is the new short by director Dave Tynan. Tynan recently directed music videos for artists like Rusangano Family, but also other poignant pieces like We Face This Land. It’s written by Kirwan, and features Jordanne Jones.
