Gadget and the Cloud shares meditative new EP ‘Things I’ll Never Say’
Kelly Doherty AKA Gadget and the Cloud reminds us it’s ok to feel lost on her new project.
Corks’ Gadget and the Cloud, has become a staple in the Irish alternative electronic scene in recent years. Providing ambient universes designed to soundtrack pensive evenings she has delivered another compelling EP ‘Things I’ll Never Say’.
The project is her first since 2018’s ‘Songs For Sad People To Dance To’ and tries to make sense of the aimlessness that has overshadowed many people’s 2020. Combining samples and patient percussion, the piece commands considered listening.
On the new record Doherty says “we’re all strong-armed into believing if we do enough or acquire enough, we’ll find our purpose and live a fulfilled life. ‘Things I’ll Never Say’ is about the moments of purposelessness that are inevitable for us all and trying to find hope even in your most lost moments.”
