Fishmonger encounters a slippery fish while conducting cross-border sales

Interactions like this are bound to pick up the plaice

Fishmongers Gannet Fish had an interesting interaction with a potential customer that gave them an insight into the choppy waters of cross-border fish sales.

During a DM conversation a Facebook user called Rob, asked the company, “Do you deliver to Northern Ireland? Umm we are part of the UK?”.

To which the owner of the Galway-based Gannet Fish Stephane Griesbach responded “I am a unionist I deliver to all of Ireland”.

Rob then revealed that he was American and an unhappy American judging by his next response, “I’m not political just looking for great fish, sorry your response has turned me off. We will not be doing any business have a nice day.”

When Griesbach tried to tell Rob that it was an “Irish sense of humour” and that he was “French anyway”, Rob’s response was final (“Sorry. wont buy from you”).

“You really want to watch out what you say North… 🤫….It’s okay I’m French and still learning,” Griesbach wrote on Instagram.
