Guinness launch 0.0% alcohol free version

Good things come to those who wait… and now to those that don’t want to drink.

Earlier today Diageo announced that its flagship stout is now going to have a sans alcohol version to accompany it. This will be seen by many as a game-changer, especially leading up to the festive period (if we even get one) where people might want to enjoy a social drink but also have the responsibility of travelling around to family members.

After four years research and development it’s been revealed that the product will be brewed in St. James’ Gate alongside the other Guinness portfolio, with prospective drinkers promised the 0.0% version will still have that signature Black Stuff taste and flavour profile.

Gráinne Wafer, Global Brand Director at Guinness said ““This is an exceptional day for Guinness, as we finally reveal Guinness 0.0. The launch of Guinness 0.0 highlights our long-held commitment to innovation, experimentation, and bravery in brewing, harnessing the power of our brewers and our ingredients, to create an alcohol-free beer that is 100% Guinness but 0% alcohol. We know people want to be able to enjoy a Guinness when they choose not to drink alcohol without compromising on taste, and with Guinness 0.0 we believe they will be able to do exactly that.”

An exact release date for Ireland hasn’t been announced but as soon as it’s available we’ll be the first to let you know where to pick up a slab or two… or three.
