Kneecap and DYRT share ‘MAM’

Words: Dylan Murphy

The two acts were writing the track dedicated to their mothers, when Móglaí Bap’s mother sadly passed away.

Belfast rappers Kneecap have shared a new song with DYRT from their forthcoming EP named ‘MAM‘.

Dedicated to the late mother of Móglaí Bap who sadly lost her life to suicide recently, it is a heartbreaking ode that sees the crew switch up their approach.

Speaking via their Instagram Móglaí Bap said, “For our latest project with DYRT we wanted to create one song that’s a bit different from the usual.

So we decided to do a tune about somethin real, our Mothers.

I was really looking forward to lettin Mam hear the tune but i told her she’d have to wait til it’s done, I wanted it to be perfect for her.

Unfortunately, i lost my mother recently to suicide and it broke my heart that she never got to hear it.”
