Lil Portie returns to Dublin for a two-week popup

Words: Emily Mullen

“It’s been a while”

One of the city’s best-loved Caribbean restaurants is returning from a lengthy hiatus. The pop-up owned by Nick Reynolds will be reopening for two weeks in Dublin 8’s Roe & Co.

“I trust all is well and the last years rust is clearing up,” Reynolds wrote on Instagram, “It’s been a while all things considered.”

From 19 – 22 August and 26 – 29 August Reynolds will be serving up a set menu of the the finest West Indian and Latin flavours, to tables of two, four and six.

Reynolds has debuted one of the dishes that appears to be featuring in the popup; cuban pork shoulder tacos served with spiced Clonakilty black pudding, and peruvian green sauce.

Lil Portie will be closing out D-8TE, the Summer dining series that saw six Dublin restaurants (Spitalfields, Pickle, Bahay, Nightmarket, Matsu Ramen) take over Roe & Co’s distillery for two weeks.

Tickets for Lil Portie’s set menu are priced at €40 and are extremely limited, to check availability visit the Roe & Co website here.
