Locally-sourced farm shop opens in Dublin 14

By Emily Mullen

The shop is stocked with products from Airfield Estate’s farm, gardens, and orchards.

Farm-to-fork fans rejoice, there’s a new locally-stocked shop in Dublin 14. Located in Dundrum’s Airfield Estate, the Overends Kitchen Farm Shop is stocked with products from the estate’s farm, gardens, and orchards, along with other artisan products from local food producers and suppliers.

The estate’s 38-acre farm will supply seasonal fruit, vegetables, and herbs, while dairy products are made from the estate’s resident Jersey milk herd. The Overends team also produces store cupboard staples and from scratch fresh baked goods.

Local producers have also banded around the new venture, which will feature products from the likes of Bread 41, Sheridans, Ballycross Apple Farm, White Mausu, Crossogue Preserves, Nutshed, Rockfield Dairy and Rockfield Dairy, and Wicklow Wolf. There’s also homeware from John Ryan Ceramics and natural soap from The Handmade Soap Company.

Culinary Ambassador with Overends, Luke Matthews, has said that, “working with the farms and gardens at Airfield Estate makes my life easy – the quality of produce and the passion of the people behind it really shines through. My own philosophy when it comes to cooking and food is very simple – get great produce and do very little to it. At Overends Kitchen, we are very lucky to work with and enjoy produce that comes directly from Airfield Estate and local suppliers.

Our hope is to show what a  difference good produce makes on the plate and inspire your food choices. And so, the farm shop at Overends Kitchen was born. We want to bring to you the best of what Ireland has to offer and really showcase the many talented people near and far around the island. We’re thrilled to be able to share our experience of focusing on Irish provenance with customers and look forward to welcoming you to  shop the very best of local, organic produce in simply stunning surroundings.”

Overends Kitchen Farm Shop is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am – 6 pm and is located in Airfield Estate, Dundrum, Dublin 14.
