Hip hop in Ireland is having a moment and the big players are using their influence to make a change for the better.
It’s no secret there’s a housing crisis in Ireland and Dublin especially. With thousands of people without somewhere to call home as they rest their head each night.
Clonsilla MC Nealo has linked with Soul Doubt Magazine and banded together with some of the strongest artists Ireland has to offer to raise money for Inner City Helping Homeless. The charity has 200 volunteers on the streets helping people who are sleeping rough and bringing them hot drinks, sandwiches, clothing and sleeping bags. On top of this they run an advocacy program assisting homeless families and individuals as to how to navigate their way out of their situation.
On the event page Nealo said “My idea was to make an annual event where 20 of the best Irish Hip Hop & RnB artists come together and perform 2/3 songs each live and collectively raise as much money as we can for ICHH. There will also be donation buckets and a raffle on the night.”
The event will take place on March 16 in the Sugar Club, doors opening at 20.00. There are to be surprise DJs and performances on the night. Get down and support a great cause.
