New evening food market is kicking off in Camden Street today

Words: Emily Mullen

“Hope to see you there… rain, hail or snow!”

While the pandemic has basically thrown the Irish culinary industry into disarray, some things some things have remained somewhat the same, like food markets. Like clockwork, they open during the summer, and hungry Dubliners flock to them rain, shine or summer sleet.

The opening of a new market off Camden Street, promises to feed the after workers and congregators around this busy street. In an ingenious move the market will be open in the evening time from 5pm-9pm, catching the after-work revellers.

Operating out of the Camden Court Hotel which is described by staff as “a hidden oasis in Dublin 2” is a heated dining spot that boasts a lot of square footage for hungry diners.

The market will host grub from the likes of Kerala kitchen, Papa’s Falafel, Bullet Duck & Dumplings and Pinchos.

The organisation behind Irish Village Waterways Market, Irish Village Markets operates Mespil Road Market on Thursdays, Sandyford Village Market on Fridays, Wren’s Nest on Sundays.

The Camden Yard Market will be open from 5pm-9pm each Friday, from Camden Street Lower in Saint Kevin’s, for more information follow Irish Village Markets on Instagram.
