Nickelodeon officially announce reboots of their ‘golden age of cartoons’

AM kids, cereal aficionados, and pyjama-bros/sistas rejoice!

Nickelodeon announced late last week that cult TV classics Hey Arnold, Rocko’s Modern Life, and Invader Zim are all to receive ‘once off’ returns to TV screens.

Since announcing Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie, and the Invader Zim TV Movie,  the children’s channel shared information on the composition of the Rocko special referring to the project as:

“[bringing] the characters back to Earth after being lost in outer space since 1996. Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko whole-heartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world.”

The announcement of a reinterpretation of Rocko’s Modern Life in the wake of Hey Arnold and Invader Zim has us hoping that Nickelodeon will continue with the rebooting of their golden age.

We’ll take an order of Ren & Stimpy next while we put one up in honour of Z-Trip to celebrate!
