p-rallel and Hak Baker join forces for summer heater ‘love me i’m scum’

Words: Dylan Murphy

Fresh from a set at Glastonbury, West-London’s p-rallel returns with a new single alongside Hak Baker.

p-rallel has proven to be one of 2022’s busiest producers and DJs. Whether it’s curating room 2 in Fabric, selling out a headliner at XOYO or dropping his latest EP Forward, the Elevation / Meditation guru has kept his foot on the gas all year.

He’s keeping that same energy in ‘love me i’m scum’, his new collaboration with fellow Londoner Hak Baker. Premiered at the Firmly Rooted dub stage at Worthy Farm, its skippy breaks and smooth vocals propel a cut destined for summer day time parties.

Speaking on the track, p-rallel says, “I first met Hak back in 2019 when we we’re supporting slowthai on tour, I knew we’d eventually get in the studio. We’re both Jamaican and grew up on Jungle, so it just made  sense to go this direction & the result is a banger, East meets West & all that.”

It comes after p-rallel’s ‘Summer Shoobz’ at The Colour Factory in Hackney Wick sold out in a record 12 hours.
