Quick-fire questions: Leo Miyagee

The Belfast rapper reveals which icon he would love to share the stage with, Dre’s hottest beat and what he is listening to ahead of his new EP.

2019 has been busy for Leo Miyagee, the rapper is one of the island’s most prolific artists and he dropped his best work to date in the form of ‘Ffldc‘ in the first half of this year. Subsequently followed by the release of stellar visuals for the stand out tracks in the album, the Belfast spitter isn’t slowing down in remaining months of 2019.

He recently announced the imminent arrival of his next body of work ‘Inner City Blues’ and ahead of the new EP we caught up with Leo to shoot him some quick fire questions.

What was the last thing you watched on Youtube?
Errol Spence VS Shawn Porter Weigh in.

Whose music are you listening to right now?
Bon Iver’s new album,  2007 Kanye West, some Kev Brown and I keep replaying 50 Cent ‘When It Rains It Pours’, I think that might be the best Dre beat I’ve ever heard.

You can rock the stage with any act past or present, who are you choosing?
Michael Jackson easyyyy.

How has 2019 treated you so far?
It’s been a pretty good year can’t complain!

Something people don’t know about you?
My real name is Lionel.

You can choose an Irish artist to head up the government & save the country who is it?
Probably Fynch, he’s level headed and likeable!

You are playing the 3Arena and they ask you for your rider requests, what are you having?
Indoor and outdoor smoking area exclusive to greenroom or trailer, a mini fridge filled with Ribena and Heineken and Tony Roma’s to be delivered to green room at least 2 hours before curtain call so I have time to actually digest the ting. Lastly an en-suite with fresh clothes cause I’m usually sweaty when I get off stage.

You can only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what do you go for?
Lasagne and garlic flatbread.

First album you ever bought ?
Food & Liquor – Lupe Fiasco.

What are you plans for the rest of 2019?
To just hit as many short term goals as possible.

Leo’s new project ‘Inner City Blues’ drops 4 October.
