S.Ú.A.S. Collaborative hip hop gig in support of Pieta House

Dublin creatives are coming together to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health, self-harm, and suicide.

On October 14th, a plethora of independent artists are teaming up for a collaborative gig in support of Pieta house.

Aiming to build a sense of community, raise awareness and encourage more open discussion about mental health, S.Ú.A.S.(Stand Up Against Suicide) is hosting a hip hop event in The Workman’s Club.

Featuring a hip hop heavy line-up of some of the best artists from across the country including: Aaron J, Celaviedmai, MA-KA, Daly, Tolu Makay, Sean X, Ari Noir, Adrian Lenz, Gerry D. They will be joined by DJ sets from DJ Frank Jez (FM104), Why-axis and DeejayT, and the night will be MC’d by Mister KYB.

The artists involved on the night have all used their platform to promote dialogue about mental health and often reveal their own personal experiences in their music.

MA-KA is one of the event organisers and is performing on the night and he said, “Too many people, young people especially are suffering in silence and as a result, they end up harming themselves or even taking their own lives. Using our talents, we want to show our support, raise awareness and raise funds so that people can avail of the free support from Pieta House – an organisation that provides a therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress and those who engage in self-harm. This is a night where we can get together, build each other up, and give back to our community.”

Along with several performances from emerging artists, there will also be free pizza courtesy of Four Star Pizza and a raffle for prizes with all proceeds from the night going to Pieta House in support of suicide prevention.

Monday 14 October, The Workman’s Club, Doors 7pm.

Tickets: €5 online, €8 at the door.
