Sense to allocate reduced price concert tickets to asylum seekers and the unemployed

Words: Dylan Murphy

“Where possible we allocate a number of tickets at a reduced price exclusively for those in receipt of Unemployment Benefit / Jobseeker Allowance / or in the process of seeking Asylum”

With live music off the cards for the majority of the past two years, it provided time to reexamine procedures and culture in a meaningful way. With shows returning, Sense has announced it will be allocating a number of reduced price concert tickets to ensure that now that music is back on the menu, it will be accessible for everyone.

In a post on Instagram, Sense say, “We believe art & entertainment should be accessible by all. We are committed to giving equal opportunity for people to create, perform and experience live events.”

“We have the responsibility and intention to make all spaces accessible, enjoyable, and free of intolerance regardless of race, religion, nationality, ethnicity, socio-economic, gender identity, or sexual orientation. By joining us in this space, you agree to celebrate and respect everyone.”

“Where possible we allocate a number of tickets at a reduced price exclusively for those in receipt of Unemployment Benefit / Jobseeker Allowance / or in the process of seeking Asylum. If you are over the age of 18 and hold a relevant ID card to the above you can purchase these select tickets. Subject to availability, see events via our website.”

It comes after Sense announced ‘Flourish‘, a series of intimate events at the Button Factory showcasing the country’s most exciting acts and a new initiative with Trees On The Land which gives concert goers the option to pay an additional €2 to plant a tree.

Running from October 12-15 Flourish features, Aby Coulibaly, Monjola, Fay’d, Shiv, Gemma Dunleavy and more.
