Skripteh reflects with the benefit of hindsight in ‘6 Years’

Words: Dylan Murphy

The New Ross rapper opens a new chapter in his first offering of 2022.

Having penned tracks since his early teens, Skripteh has the same time in the game as artists five years his elder. As the Wexford artist enters 2022 he’s making deliberate moves to outgrow one to watch status and establish himself as one of Ireland’s singular drill acts.

His latest release, ‘6 Years’ provides that watershed moment where Skripteh casts one eye on the rearview and examines the tribulations that made him the man he is today, before pivoting and refocusing on the future. Featuring production from Adam Jordan, AKA New Machine, the track sees Skripteh bring his trademark flow with a more refined approach to his storytelling showcasing the results of his hard work over the past few years.

Shot by T1 Media, the visuals premiered on MixtapeMadness over the weekend and resulted in co-signs from drill high flyer Ardee among others.
