SL launches new foundation and shares new video for ‘Felt Tips’

Words: Dylan Murphy

The teenage star has promised to donate a minimum of £100,000 to charitable causes.

SL is one of the unique artists to come out of the UK in recent years. He first went viral with singles like ‘Tropical’ and ‘Gentleman’ while completing his GCSEs. Since then his lackadaisical style and otherworldly music videos have earned co-signs from Stormzy, Drake and JME in recent years and have cemented his position as one of hip hop’s most exciting prospects.

Today, the 19-year-old shared a new video for ‘Felt Tips’ alongside the announcement of his Foundation. He set it up over the summer in response to the Black Lives Matter movement and it will SL pledge to donate a minimum of £100,000 to charitable causes that empower young people from all ethnicities across the UK (before extending the reach to his grandparents’ community in Nigeria).

‘Felt Tips’ marks the first new music from the teenage spitter since the summer EP ‘Selhurst SE25’ – which he made in collaboration with US producer Kenny Beats.
