There will be limits on alcohol at the festival that hopes to take place in August along with social distancing measures.

The organisers of Stendhal festival in Limavady have devised a new socially-distanced festival for the end of the end of the summer.

‘Unlocked’ plans to have 500-1000 people across two weekends in August (August 21-22 & August 28-29) across 25 acres of land. The proposals are subject to government guidelines and if it goes ahead it will ensure there are temperature checks on entry to the festival grounds among other safety procedures.

The information on Stenhal’s website reads:

“Unlocked – The first festival of its kind in the history of Northern Ireland.”

“Expect special performances from some of the very best talent the island of Ireland has to offer, beer gardens, delicious food and perhaps best of all, over 20 acres of outdoor scenic countryside to enjoy.”

According to the information on the website there will be hand sanitising stations across the festival and limits on alcohol to reduce the chance of people accidentally breaching social distancing rules.

During the festival camp plots are reserved for strictly two people from the same household or social bubble, but again will be subject to review.

There are currently no family tickets available, but they have said they are exploring this option currently. Similarly there are no camper van or caravan tickets available initially, but they will monitor the situation.

Tickets are available from July 4, however the line-up is yet to be revealed.
